FAQ
Do I need an MDM?
No, PRV8 Backup Calling is a regular Google Play app.
Which devices and OS versions are supported?
A dual-SIM phone with Android 13 or later. Both SIMs, the Private Network SIM and the MNO SIM, must carry access rules for apps signed by PRV8; the Private Network SIM must be the Primary Data SIM; and the MNO line must support Wi-Fi Calling.
What does it cost?
PRV8 Backup Calling is free on Google Play. SIM provisioning and MNO engagement are priced per deployment.
Will it work with my private network?
It works with 3GPP LTE and 5G SA private networks. Calls and texts travel inside the MNO’s standard encrypted IPsec tunnel to its ePDG, the same path Wi-Fi Calling uses, so your network carries them but can’t read them.
How is it different from Wi-Fi Calling?
It uses the same MNO connection, but over your Private Network’s cellular data instead of Wi-Fi. The app chooses the path for each moment: the Private Network, Wi-Fi Calling, or the MNO’s own network, and shows which one is in use and why.
